Yet you run around in full kit in games?

I don't get on here as often as some of you but from a quick scan of this thread I think we'd better re-role as a Waffen SS field hospital or veterans retirement home rather than a Kampfgruppe!
Hee hee - either that or set all our scenarios in Germany, 1945 and the Fall of Berlin - that way we could have the motley crew of battle hardened SS, old fellas with walking sticks and fresh faced, idealistic young boys all fighting side by side and it not look out of place -
BTW - can anyone supply me with the postcode for the Redditch site, or the contact details of 'a man who can'?

Cheers John, that's absolutely great. Looking forward to it - just hope the weather holds out and doesn't try to drown us -
Haven't had the gear on outside the house for quite a while now - ![]()
I've received a PM from Bobby K, telling me that he can't make it now. That drops our numbers down to 10 for this. Kudos to all who are coming. Frankly, I'm disappointed that we haven't got more. Obviously, several people have taken the time to say that they can't come and I respect their reasons for this. However there are others (and I won't mention names) who haven't even bothered to reply at all.
If any of these members (you know who you are) are reading this, let me tell you and remind you of what was originally said when we opened this private forum. We will chop out the dead wood of supposed 'members' who don't even have the decency to reply to messages or posts, come to training days, or turn up for games. We have TWENTY THREE people on our memberlist! This group is for people who show at least a modicum of commitment to it! We will be looking at our memberlist after the December game and I've already got the axe sharpened in anticipation.
I hope to god that noone else drops out at the last minute, or we are completely screwed. I've put a lot of effort into organising this and it's very frustrating when we struggle to make the bare minimum that we need for useful training. Sorry to have a moan guys, as I know that the ones who will read this first are the ones who are not under scrutiny.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
Keith and I will be there on Sunday, I just need work out the travel times/equipment procurement and loading details.
I'll phone you on Saturday Pete.
Oh one request - change the avatar - it freaks me out lol

Thanks and well done to all who came today. I had a great time and it was good to catch up with you all again. I hope that you all found the training interesting and useful. Hopefully, this has given us a platform to build on for future training days and games. The last attack in particular was very good. It was nice to see everyone picking it up as the day went on and getting stuck in.

Thank YOU Pete for organising it all - I had a great time and I'm sure everyone else did, too - those who missed it missed a good day. Already looking forward to seeing those who can make it to Fireball in Feb. and for those who can't, hopefully see you again in March, or the next TD if there is one before then.

Good to see you again
Thanks Pete for the day

Thank you Pete, an enjoyable and informative day - great that you managed to swing a deal for a tenner a head too!

Thanks Pete, an excellent day. I'm looking forward to learning more now so I hope we can have another sometime soon. Would be good to have one before the PBI game so those that couldn't attend can catch up and we can learn a bit more ready for the showdown.
Brilliant day Pete - many thanks for being my chauffeur and landlord, etc, etc. Had a nightmare journey back..... the 1703 arrived at New Street utterly packed. A few managed to get on, many (including myself) did not - even those with reserved seats. Dragged my kit over to another platform to get the 1803, with its dodgy bus connection from Reading to Basingstoke, only to be informed it was 20 minutes late. I figured that I might be stuck all night at Reading, so opted for the 1903 (dragging my gear back to the other platform). The 1903 turned up.... packed to the rafters again! I thought, I have to get on this train, or I'll spend the night here!
Managed to get on. I have never seen a train so packed - people were even standing in the toilet! At the next station, people begged to get on, saying they'd been there 3 hours! Finally got back to my house at 23.45....
Never taking the train again!!

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Sounds like a real nightmare Andy
When I used to HAVE to take the train I used to hate if I had to travel on a Sunday - it's always crap, especially if having to go through Reading.
I worked for 6 months in Southampton @ BAT looking after the Server and network infrastructure, but lived in Sidcup, kent
, a real nightmare of a journey.
A great day, thanks to Pete & everyone,
cheers,
